Roundabout the Villages Sixth Birthday

“When we moved to Hinckley in 2004, we didn’t know anyone locally and we certainly didn’t know any businesses. In 2009 I decided the time had come to work for myself. Remembering that I did not know any local trades when we had first moved to Hinckley, I spotted an opportunity. I had seen local community style magazines in Hertfordshire where I had previously lived. Despite having no printing or advertising experience, I nonetheless had a firm belief in myself that I could produce a local magazine focused on customer service. I wanted to offer something more than those advertising companies that simply sell and move on, never speaking with the same person again. I believe passionately in providing excellent customer service. In September 2009, I began seeking businesses willing to advertise. Despite a few knock backs or being asked to come back when I was more established, I quickly succeeded in getting some new customers. In November 2009, I proudly launched the first issue and Roundabout Hinckley was born. I am passionate about promoting local businesses and I am proud of the quality magazines we produce that showcase our customers’ businesses. An absolute bonus for me is that many of our advertisers have become good friends. I am also delighted to have been a finalist in several local business awards and was thrilled to win the Leicester Mercury Women in Business Awards Sole Trader 2018.”
 What’s more, 10,000 copies are hand delivered every 2 months by my own delivery team to homes and businesses in Hinckley. We have an estimated readership of 30,000 local residents and many Householders tell us they retain our magazine until delivery of the next edition. Accordingly all adverts are booked in a minimum of two month blocks. In 2015 I launched a villages version called Roundabout the Villages which is delivered to 10000 homes in some of the villages surrounding Hinckley to Burbage, Sapcote, Stoney Stanton, Sharnford, Barwell, Stoke Golding and to Market Bosworth and with the same great prices as Roundabout Hinckley. Roundabout Hinckley and Roundabout the Villages are popular and useful local handbooks. Delivering directly to households and businesses means getting your message across without relying on residents buying the local paper.
